Description Boxers are medium-sized, square-built with short back, strong limbs, and short, tight-fitting coat. | ||
Size Adult males are 23 to 25 inches and females are 21 to 23 inches. | ||
Coat Short, shiny, lying smooth and tight to the Boxers body. | ||
Color Boxers are fawn or brindle. | ||
Temperament Boxers are social, playful, curious and entertaining pets. They are both intelligent and enthusiastic. The Boxer is weary of strangers and makes an excellent protection dog. | ||
Care Regular brushing is necessary for this breed as they do shed. | ||
Exercise The Boxer needs plenty of daily exercise. | ||
Training They are eager and quick to learn, but can be stubborn at times. | ||
Shedding Boxers are moderate shedders. | ||
Allergies Boxers can suffer from allergies. | ||
Barking & Howling Boxers have a playful bark. | ||
Life Expectancy Well cared for Boxers can live 10-12 years. | ||
Health The most common ailments are: lung cancer, skin allergies, joint problems, paw infections, sinus infections, hip dysplasia, gum tumors, and heart problems. | ||
